You know I had used the Little Colds medicine on Aubrey a couple weeks ago before I started reading up on that stuff, gosh I'm throwing them away now. I never gave her a lot though! But still...why market that stuff for babies when there isn't even a recommended dosage for children under 2

EXACTLY my thought!!! I had bought a bottle of Infants Tylenol Cold when Aiden was first born to keep it on hand. I called the doctor when he got sick, because it said "ask a doctor", and he said throw it out and that he wouldn't recommend it for him. WHY on Earth label it "infants" if you can't give it to an "infant"???!!! Really stupid on the manufacturers part! -------------------- Jennie: mommy to two handsome little men, a crazy husband (TheOaf66), and two cats.

Because there are still parents out there that will give it anyways. Most peds will tell you that stuff is more harmful to children than helpful, but there is a huge demand from parents out there that can't stand to see their children sick and feel helpless not being able to give them something so they buy that crap (manufacturers make money off of it so why care) and parents feel better that they at least tried to help their child. -------------------- ~*Karen*~

Karen's right. People get desperate to "do something", when in the end, only time and the child's own immune system will help. Corey's got a HORRIBLE cough right now, to the point that she occasionally barfs from coughing so hard- it sucks when she's looking to me to make it better, and I can't. But, I just give her a teaspoon of honey and lemon, or a cold drink, or an icepop, and comfort her. There's really nothing else, there just isn't.

My ped always tells me to let the little things run their course. She said if it makes me feel better by giving her something get her pedi pops or pedi light.

So true. Kylie's been battling a sore throat and has lost her voice some. She keeps begging me for something, but there isn't anything that can really be done but time. I, too, give her lemon, etc, to help, but the body has to do it itself. -------------------- ~*Karen*~
