yes my boss loved my orginal idea ( which was to wear the dress i had for my wedding reception because it is beautiful and doesn't look like a wedding dress and so he said it would work) BUT his partner was checking everyones outfits and was like NO! so now i have to get one today. ( fortunately i have the day off to go shopping) red sounds like a great idea! -------------------- Mya 7-1-00 |

for this we do. normally they could really care less as long as you look fitting for the store. But with this special event "we have to look as expencive as the jewelry" I work in a "high end" jewelry store. -------------------- Mya 7-1-00 |

I get why your boss asked to approve your outfit. When you work in retail or at high-end events, you are selling a product, an image, so it would be odd if an employee came in something not appropriate for that image. JMHO.
Anyhow, I think cocktail length is just fine. I wouldn't go strapless, but maybe something with a thicker strap. Or what about a long sleeve wrap dress? Is that too casual? Do you get to wear the jewelry at the party? Because dark colors like black, burgundy, chocolate and wine color would make them standout. You can always throw one of those cute swing jackets over top if you need to cover your shoulders. Just some ideas. I wouldn't go with anything sequency, because it would take away from the jewelry, but again, JMO. Have fun! -------------------- Rae SAHM to Wil (4) and Wesley (2) ~ Wife to Richard 10/20/01
