The hair I wish I had...lol Group: Members Posts: 21,560 Member No.: 157 Joined: 4-May 03 |
First of all...Thanks to M2A and TLCdad for doing these...they are fun. I only have 1 problem with them. It seems like most of the winners are people that JUST signed up to enter the sweepstakes. I know that some PC members have won...which is nice....But the other winners we have never even heard of or seen again. I would like to suggest a post number reccomendation to be able to participate in the sweepstakes. Right now it seems like most of these are being won by people that don't even participate on our board.

I like this suggestion. I'd really like to be able to congratulate people who I've interacted with.

Exactly...I was just signing up for the new one today when I realized the results from the old ones were up. I saw that you and Kaitlin and a couple other members won something...Congratulations by the way. Then there was a list of names and not one person I have seen post at all. You can't even congratulate them or ask them how they liked the prize because you never see them again. -------------------- Brianne

I like the idea too, I'd noticed the same thing.

They may be able to clear it up better than I can but from what I understand, the sponsors of the contests require that it be open to everyone.

This is my understanding too. I believe the sponsors of the sweepstakes say it has to be open to the general public and that it can't be exclusive to a certain group, in this case that group would be members w/a post count. I personally think it's sad how people sign up just to win a contest and never bring anything else to the board, but hey..it's their life. I guess it is possible that some of those who won the contest are lurking 'members' who are just too shy to post? Yes, the sponsored giveaways must be open to the public. Unless it is an essay type contest where the mods judge (and the entry is anonymous), then it is a random draw. Everyone has an equal chance of winning. So, remember, you have to enter in order to win!
