Does anyone else have problems with shoes?? Ian does NOT like them. I've tried almost every shoe there is and he just prefers to go barefooted. I don't know if that's why he's not even attempting to walk yet. He doesn't even cruise from one end of the couch to the other or around anything. Does any one have suggestions on getting him up and moving. He will absolutely fly crawling. But we live in a log home so all our floors are hardwood and socks are a real problem when I try to walk him around, that's why we were going with shoes, but Ian has other ideas...

Many believe it is best not to put any shoes on a child before they learn to walk. It is better for them to learn to move their feet without shoes. When my daughter started cruising and I needed for her feet to be warmer I used Robeez (www.robeez.com) and she didn't seem to mind them and could not get them off. They also allow for free movement of the feet.
I see that your son is 11 months. Mine didn't walk until 12 months and was still in the very "normal" range. No need to push it along--he'll walk soon enough I don't think physicians get concerned until 15 months. Does he have any stand-up toys (play tables)? That can sometimes help -------------------- Brenda, a mom and wife in love with my family
