About a month ago, Ashely fell getting out of bed and hit her head on her table in her room. She hit it right above her nose, a little above the space between her eyes. I put ice on it right away, and kept her up for a few hours watching for all the danger signs. She seemed fine except for being tired, but it was 4am. The knot went down quite a bit right away with the ice, but it was still slightly raised and bruised. About 3-4 days later, the inner part of one of her eyes bruised slightly. It's been about a month now, and there is still a slightly raised bump. It's kind of hard to see unless you are in certain lighting, in fact I didn't realize it was still there for awhile. But you can definitely still feel it and it is still a little pinkish. She says it doesn't hurt, but I am concerned as to why there is still a bump there. I am going to take her in to get it checked, but just wondering if anyone has had a kid that's had a knot on their forehead last this long?

Hmmm, I haven't had this happen that I remember. Kylie was always getting knots on her forehead when she was pulling herself up and walking, but don't recall how long they lasted.
We use Arnica for bumps/bruises and it takes the swelling/bruising down really quick. -------------------- ~*Karen*~

When Olivia was a toddler she slipped and hit herself right between the eyes on the corner of a built in cabinet. She got two black eyes and a huge knot. It took forever for it to go all the way down. I'm thinking it was 4-6 weeks before it was completely healed.

I called her ped, and they'd like to see her tomorrow. I'll let you know what they say.

Please do. It's always good to have it checked out just in case. Last summer Megan ran full force into a pole at the state fair. She had been racing her sister. It cut the skin right above her eyebrow and her eye was looking funny. The first aid station said she didn't have a concussion but I wanted a doctor to check it out just in case. She hit it so so hard and I was afraid she that may have done something to the bone around the eye socket. The doc said it's always good to have the head/eye type issues looked at just in case. So I felt better. The next day the whole side of her face was so black and blue from hitting the pole and it was B&B for a LONG time. -------------------- ~*Karen*~

Had a busy weekend, I am just now getting time to update...
I took Ashley to see the ped. Her ped said it is just a calcification... this happens sometimes when there is a bruise and not much fatty tissue. She said it is nothing to worry about at all and is common, but it could take 6 months to a year for it to go away. -------------------- |

Bummer! Well it could be worse, right? Here's hoping it goes away quickly!

I'm glad you updated us. I was about to ask you how she was doing.
You said it's not that noticeable? Thankfully it's not any worse, hope it heals soon! |

If you look at her in this pic, you can see it as the lighting was hitting it the right way. This picture was taken yesterday. She's the one on the far right of the picture... you can see the bump right between her eyes.
