Hello everyone! For those who don't remember me, my name is Angel and I am DeeDee's sister (MommytoAshley).

I have a question, my daughter Brittany has braces on. She has had them for about 6 months now. Her bottom teeth were pretty crooked, but her top teeth were pretty straight. The orthodontist recommeded putting them on top also, and they also put an appliance in the top of her mouth.

My question is, her front teeth are now gapping quite a bit. They weren't gapped before. I asked the orthodontist and he said it was normal to do this? HAs anyone else encountered this? Like I said her top teeth were really straight and together.

Hi again, Angel. I remember you! Like Lisa said, gapping of the teeth, even ones you thought were straight before the appliance is normal. Her smile will come out beautifully, I'm sure!

Thank you everyone, I'm glad to know it is normal. I guess I should have listened to the ortho (he does make the big bucks)

Hi wavey.gif I worked in an ortho office for a bit and yes they space out and then will come back together and your daughter will have a beautiful smile. ( my bother also had a roof of the mouth appliance in and it holds the correction of the teeth in place. )
