My 1st grader just started Rocket Math and he is a little stressed out over it. What the heck is Rocket Math? He is good in math but not as good with writing. Could his writing be the problem. Thanks.

I've never heard of it so I did I quick search and here is what I found:

Students practice and master their addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts through repetition and timed tests. Each student practices 3 new math facts a day for 3 minutes. Then, they take a 1-minute test to see if they mastered the 3 new facts.

Sounds a bit stressful to me...I remember taking timed typing tests in high school and college...it used to freak me out. Typing, mind you! Some kids feel more pressure than others. wacko.gif
