Anyone ever have that thing up there?! OMG I don't ever want to feel it again, I couldn't move my legs just because I didn't want to feel it move. I'm probably just being a baby, I'm going to have a hard time during labor lol

I have never had one, but it is one of my great fears about labor/ c-section.

I had one briefly and it was not as bad as I thought and when I couldn't 'go' I was grateful that they used it!

For me the insertion was by far the worst, but it's still no fun any way you look at it!

I hated that thing!!! I'm thinking about going epi-free next time because I hated the catheter so much.

I was TERRIFIED of it and it actually was nothing! I had to have an emergency c-section so I had no choice. They put it in after the epi, so I obviously didn't feel it go in. I was so afraid when the nurse said it was time for it to come out but honestly it felt like pulling a tampon out...and that was it! It'll be fine if you have to have one.

I never have had one even with my epidural with Jacob. Although I have put a few in and I know they are uncomfortable.

That thing might have been my worst experience during labor. It took the dang nurse 4 times to get it in, and the 4th try she finally had another nurse come help her. It was really humiliating.

Both my kids were c-sections and with Mckaylee they did it right there...hurt like a **********. With Russell they just wheeled it to the surgery room and had him put it in after the epi. Same when I had my reduction.

I had one when I had the epidural. It didn't bother me till after I had my daughter and I was in recovery. I told the nurse to take it out already, I can pee on my own!

I guess I never peed during L&D, or at least I didn't within the six hours leading up to delivery. So anyway, they put one in after I gave birth because I couldn't go pee. The epi was still working, so I didn't feel anything, but I saw how much came out...I guess I broke a record at the hospital and filled like 2 liters at one time!! So that's like two large soda bottles! Word got around fast, because even one of the OBs in my group (who didn't deliver Wil), came in to see me a few days after the birth and mentioned "yeah, I heard that you filled...."! I guess it can be pretty dangerous to your recovering uterus...all the pressure.

I had to have a catheter before.
The insertion is by far the worst part. Another thing that annoyed me, was the urge to pee I don't know how do describe it, but I always had this urge for "relief". -------------------- |
