Coloured macaroni, How to?

Ya I was hoping not to spend the money on buying it and use food colouring instead. Limited budget.

Make your different colors by putting the food color in some alcohol that is in a plastic ziploc bag, add your macaroni, shake and then put in a pan to dry. This is a smelly process and should be done before working with the kids because you are working with the alcohol.

Yep! That's how I do it. Use more drops of f.c. for darker color, if you are going to mix the colors to make new ones (i.e. purple) make sure you mix it up really well.

I usually put them outside on newspaper to dry for a few hours, but I live in Az, and it's still warm here.
