Alexandra has been such a GOOD baby until the last 3 nights. She's started getting really fussy around 8pm and won't go to bed unless I'm holding her and the second I put her in her crib or bassinet or swing or bouncy seat..OR ANYWHERE she just starts wailing!! She's only 4 weeks old, so I don't really think she could be spoiled yet..and well, honestly, she's my last baby AND the only girl..so we are well prepared for the fact that she IS GOING to be spoiled and we're completely okay with that
![]() Any suggestions..advice..PLEASE HELP!! I'm seriously running on 3 hours sleep for the last two nights combined! This post has been edited by Boys r us on Nov 29 2006, 08:34 PM -------------------- NICHOLE

are you swaddling her really tight? amby bed? i know you mentioned putting her anywhere, she cries - have you tried the vibrate (swing/chair/our crib mattress vibrates and it was a lifesaver)

Olivia did the same thing - about 10 weeks later we realized she had terrible reflux and the acid was killing her when I layed her down.......

Now, Emma is not even 2 weeks, but I'll tell you what we do, At night I try to keep her up a bit before her 8 or 9-ish bottle. I put on her pajamas, wash her up, talk to her, sing to her, whatever.... Then after her bottle I burp her really well and swaddle her pretty tightly and rock her a bit. When I lay her down, if she is still fussy, I giver her a paci. During the middle of the night feedings, I change her first (unless she poops during the feeding) then I fed her in the rocker and burp her, swaddle her again and put her in the bassinette with soft music playing. I give her the paci and that seems to work well for us (so far)
although, who knows, in 2 weeks I may be posting the exact same thing as you!! -------------------- ~*~*~*~Edie, Jason 9/23/02, and Emma 11/19/06~*~*~*~

growth spurt? Is she hungry? K was like that and wouldn't sleep away from one of us until she was 16 mos old. It was awful. Hope that it's just temporary for you.

Oh i know the frustration, jenna was liek that too. It was annoying to say the least. what i did( i co-slept). is i held her in the crook of my arm like you do and then when i wait till she is really in a deep sleep i would slowly remove my arm out from under her and she stayed asleep.

The thing that worked for us was the swaddling, really tight. I just this week discovered the joys of the "Kiddopotomus" swaddling blanket, I ordered mine online from I think, one step ahead. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It Velcros, so no more breaking out in the middle of the night.

Sorry Nichole, no suggestions here as I had the same problem with Anthony. Best of luck finding a solution that works for you.

I have heard the book "The Baby Whisperer" is great - it helped a lot of people i know. I have heard to feed them upon waking not feed them to fall alseep and swaddle up real tight..........but what do I know? Not much, it is easy to forget how I delat with the baby stage

JOhnny is definately our worst sleeper. For us the best is if he is swaddled and we have a hot bater bottle in bed with him, also he does best on his side.
NOt sleeping is definately the hardest part of infant parenting. J. is doing a little better the last few days so I will send a few of our sleep vibes your way. -------------------- ![]() |
