I am sorry if I worried anyone with my FB post. I cant post on their the reason I am freaking out because, I dont want the people who are taking Caleb for a great weekend to think its them I dont trust..
here is my story I have only been away from caleb twice in 8yrs since I had him. ONce when Jakob was born and then once again when Andrew was born. I have pretend parents..who have been close to use since caleb was born and they are great with him. You know the issues caleb has been having. He was so happy to see his "grandparents" and they got some hockey tickets for him to go to hershey bears hockey game with them for the weekend..he is going to leave tomorrow after school until sunday afternoon. I am so nervous about letting him be so far away from me for so long.. I get paranoid about the "what if's"..he is my first son, he is still my baby..I protect him from all kinds of things...... so I freak about the long drive..and what about him being at a grown up hockey game where people drink and drive.. I just worry. I want my baby home safe and sound. He hasnt even left yet. sounds dumb I know..but I worry. so freaking out..even though I really shouldnt..I will be a mess until I have him home on sunday. -------------------- Stacy, wife to Peter, mom to Caleb, Jakob, and Andrew

I think it is a normal feeling. But, I also think he will have a great time! I also tend to be a worrier, and can't wait for them to be home safe and sound. But, I try and put the 'what if's' out of my mind. There is no point worrying about something that has not happened, and likely will not happen. (Saying that, I understand that it is easier said than done!).
I hope Caleb has a fantastic time And you don't stress too much -------------------- Nina, Mama to Emily Kate, Odessa Jean & Aysun Aleisha.

No, it's ok to worry Stacy! It's normal. Still happens to me on certain occasions and my kids have been staying with others for a long time.

i know it's hard. just keep telling yourself everything will be fine.. you'll believe when he is back lol. but the good thing is, next time you won't be so freaked out. Jacob (now 13) has been in Quebec with his class all week, coming home tonight. i was pretty upset he didn't call the first night or last night... but i know i am being irrational. he is having a blast. letting go is really hard!

yep yep yep! thank you for getting it..
My DH thinks I am not letting him grow.. So I will worry in silence but I am a worrier by nature. I know he is going to have a blast and I am so thankful for this opportunity for him. -------------------- Stacy, wife to Peter, mom to Caleb, Jakob, and Andrew

Some fathers are like that and not just with boys. Ryan thinks I smother the kids, am overprotective, yet at the same time he thinks I'm too strict with them. I never know how he "thinks" I should be when it comes to them. I just let it roll off the shoulder and do what I am gonna do. He knows I will anyways. Come worry here any time you need to. -------------------- ~*Karen*~

well he just left. He seemed a little anxious too. He hasnt seen them in 6 months as they are snow birds...but I know he needs this time with them.
I can feel my own anxiety starting to sneak in! Of course a rain/thunderstorm just had to start when they hit the road for their hour long ride ! -------------------- Stacy, wife to Peter, mom to Caleb, Jakob, and Andrew

Thanks for asking Kimberly! I am doing ok. I didnt want to seem like the over protective mom, but I finally called to say good nite to him at 930p. He sounds great, upbeat and having fun.
I am glad. I miss him. He sometimes still seems so young to me.. but thanks for asking, I cant really tell DH how I am feeling because he just trys to explain my feelings away..he means well. -------------------- Stacy, wife to Peter, mom to Caleb, Jakob, and Andrew
