Alexandra has been such a GOOD baby until the last 3 nights. She's started getting really fussy around 8pm and won't go to bed unless I'm holding her and the second I put her in her crib or bassinet or swing or bouncy seat..OR ANYWHERE she just starts wailing!! She's only 4 weeks old, so I don't really think she could be spoiled yet..and well, honestly, she's my last baby AND the only girl..so we are well prepared for the fact that she IS GOING to be spoiled and we're completely okay with that tongue.gif But this not being able to put her down thing is kind of hampering MY SLEEP! I have no problems with holding her all day long, but at night, I need to be able to lay her somewhere! At this point I'd let her sleep in her carseat if she would..but she won't! So we've been fallinig asleep together(no less) in the recliner or her in the crook of my arm in bed with me..which means I can't move all night and have to stay in the same position all night long and wake up very sore and with horrible neck pain.

Any suggestions..advice..PLEASE HELP!! I'm seriously running on 3 hours sleep for the last two nights combined!

Yikes, I don't know hug.gif It's great though that you can admit she's going to be spoiled, we did the same with Macie blush.gif Have you tried swing, bouncy seat, etc? Could she be having gas or something?

Sorry I don't have anything better to offer, but lots of sleep vibes snooze.gif for both of you hug.gif

Olivia did the same thing - about 10 weeks later we realized she had terrible reflux and the acid was killing her when I layed her down.......

Now, Emma is not even 2 weeks, but I'll tell you what we do, At night I try to keep her up a bit before her 8 or 9-ish bottle. I put on her pajamas, wash her up, talk to her, sing to her, whatever.... Then after her bottle I burp her really well and swaddle her pretty tightly and rock her a bit. When I lay her down, if she is still fussy, I giver her a paci. During the middle of the night feedings, I change her first (unless she poops during the feeding) then I fed her in the rocker and burp her, swaddle her again and put her in the bassinette with soft music playing. I give her the paci and that seems to work well for us (so far)

although, who knows, in 2 weeks I may be posting the exact same thing as you!!

Oh i know the frustration, jenna was liek that too. It was annoying to say the least. what i did( i co-slept). is i held her in the crook of my arm like you do and then when i wait till she is really in a deep sleep i would slowly remove my arm out from under her and she stayed asleep.

The thing that worked for us was the swaddling, really tight. I just this week discovered the joys of the "Kiddopotomus" swaddling blanket, I ordered mine online from I think, one step ahead. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It Velcros, so no more breaking out in the middle of the night. thumb.gif I used to warm up her bed with a heating pad before i put her down. That seemed to help her transition from my arms to the bed.

this is a great book! I read it when Jason was a newborn, and I still keep some of the thoughts with me....she talks about the EASY plan

JOhnny is definately our worst sleeper. For us the best is if he is swaddled and we have a hot bater bottle in bed with him, also he does best on his side.
NOt sleeping is definately the hardest part of infant parenting. J. is doing a little better the last few days so I will send a few of our sleep vibes your way.

hug.gif I'm sorry Nichole! I know what you mean about co-sleeping being too hard. I could never sleep well with Andrew in bed next to me either. I was always afraid to move in case I accidentally pulled the blanket up over him or squashed him or something, and I'd get so sore and wouldn't be able to sleep. I hope it gets better soon! Do you think she might have reflux like someone else mentioned? If it's not that and just that she's spoiled you might just have to work on training her to sleep without you. You need sleep too! hug.gif
