I went to the doctor yesterday because I've been overly tired no matter how much sleep I get. I've told him in the past I've blood work done (CBC, Bilirubin, iron, and a couple others).
First he starts on my past history of depression, and I assure him it isn't that because I don't have the other symptoms and I know it's not that because I've been pretty much on the happy end of things lately etc... Then he say well your blood pressure is fine etc....and from what I can tell your healthy. I will run some blood tests, but it's probably just hormones that have changed since having babies, and if there's nothing in the blood work, then the only thing he can do is reccommend vitamins which might not help. (I'm already taking Vitamin D). ![]() ![]() -------------------- |

How is your Iron level? I know that if your iron levels get to low then it can make you anemic and that makes you really tired also. Just a thought.

If it was diabetes, you'd probably be drinking excessive amounts and going pee a bunch. It's also very easy to detect with blood screens. The iron/cbc combination works pretty well to pick up anemia. Thyroid disorders are also big on the fatigue list. Let us know what the blood work shows, I would think that 3 years post partum your hormones would have stabilized. Sounds like he was fishing. -------------------- ![]() |

I don't think it's anemia as I've had my iron levels checked twice by blood work already and it was fine, also I've given blood twice to the Red Cross this year and they check your Iron before allowing you to give, again it was fine. I also eat a lot of red meat and dark green veges.

Well, fatigue is a hallmark of depression, and I have been in a state of depression before and didn't really realize it until after it was over. But then again, you know yourself better than any dr, and if you say you're not depressed, he should accept that. Other possibilities for unrelenting fatigue are chronic fatigue syndrome, aka Epstein Barr virus, mono, or Lyme disease (depending on where you live). There are lots of diseases and conditions that cause fatigue, but in the absence of other symptoms, it's hard to pin something down. I would think anything horrible would show up in your bloodwork, but maybe you need to request a referral to another internist or an endocronologist.
Good luck. -------------------- Jeanne

I'm off and on anemic, so I don't necessarily rely on blood tests...it comes and goes depending on my diet mostly so the day I test may be during a good week, kwim? I take an iron supplement no matter what, also a good B vitamin helps me a lot.
Hope you feel better soon ![]() |

Stress can tire you out. You've been through a lot in the last couple months... couldn't hurt to maybe talk to someone about it...?

Hope you are feeling better! But I agree with other girls I would have your thyroid checked...Make sure they check...
TSH T3 Free T4 and Also your cortisol can affect it too. There are some things you can get at healthfood store to help with energy and thyroid. Good luck! ![]() -------------------- Mother to Jacob & Conner. Wife to Loren |
