SO i went yesterdya fo rmy 17 week ultrasound and left in tears. the tech was terrible. Basically she said "its way to early ot see anything, seriously i can't even see if your baby has a brain or kidneys. i cna't tell if it's heart has 4 chambers or not. You're gonna have to come back in a month "
I was so upset because
1) both other kids had been fine at this stage and had been measureed at 17-18 week s and everythgin was visable. and I knew their gender.
2) she was rude and unprifessional and in a hurry to get t her lunch
3) i CAN"T wait a month to find out if my kid has a brain!!!

So i walked over to my dr' soffice (Ultrasound is at a differnt Dr) and was bawling to him abotu it . basicall yhe was PI$$ED adn said that he woudl have me eithe rgo to the hospitla or a different DR depending on what she sne tover in teh fax. Well she sent ZIP! so he sent me to a larger faciltiy about an hour away today and after i worried all night hat my kid was malformed or had problems I got to FINALLY see my bean (Well i saw it yesterday but it wasnt' long liek 5 minutes and it dont' do much cause she wouldnt' reall ymove the wand around and look. and she wouldnt' tell me gender cause she claimed it was too early)
SO anyway today i got to spen a full hour lookign at teh baby and teh new tech measured everything and got good masurements. it has a heart and brain and closed spine and kidneys that work just fine !!!! She siad everythign was perfect for 17 weeks and the other tech just didnt' take teh time to look. She was willing to do a 3-d but said that it wouldnt be very clear righ tnow but i can go back at 28 weeks and do a 3d and get cute pictures (LOL), and it'sll be teh same cost as a regular ultrasound SO my ins woill pay for it !! Oh and she siad my due date was a few days off by teh measurements it should be 3 days earlier btu nothign major (SO maybe this one will come on time !) I got an adorable picture (kinda odd they give you a 5x7 print of it) btu it;s really cute. Oh and the baby was breech, but it flipped right at teh end so she said it looks great. OH and we found out the gender.. but we're not tellign anyone until it's born (unless i slip ) LOL
Sorry thsi got long blush.gif

I'm sorry that you had such a bad experience. hug.gif That tech. was just horrible and I would have done the same thing. They were able to find and see everything with Jordan and she was 15-16 weeks. I'm just so miffed for you. growl.gif Also glad that you didn't have to wait a month to have your worries relieved. biggrin.gif

OMG, Carrie!!! I hope you write a horribly nasty letter to that first place, and give them a piece of your mind. What a HORRIBLE U/S tech! mad.gif

But I'm so glad that your baby is healthy and well, and that you found out the gender. Congrats!! hug.gif

I am so glad that your doc sent you to another place so you got to see your baby! Thats so horrible that she said "I can't even see if your baby has a brain" that is so mean to say to a pregnant mom!!!

Ugh! I'm so sorry you had a rough first visit. What a witch mad.gif I'm really glad that your doctor listened to your concerns and made things right, though. The 2nd tech sounded perfect.

And I'm guessing BOY! wink.gif

Thanks ladies smile.gif I did call teh other office (actualyl shortly after my Dr called !) nad complained and they siad it wasn't teh first time they had issuse with her. They would document it in her file and her position was being reconsidered. So at least somethign as far as reprimand will be done!!! It is a hugh relief though that everythign is fine, you NEVER tell a pregnant person somethign that causes hormones and emotions to run crazy!!! rolleyes.gif
