We bought a camper this past Friday. It's an older camper and the curtains are actually really pretty, but don't look like they've been cleaned in awhile. happy.gif You know how curtains, when they are open so far they have the folds in them? Well the outside folds are nice and clean looking, but the inside folds are, well, dirty looking. You can definitely see a difference in the two folds. happy.gif Now this was after I washed them. So clearly just a regular washing did not suffice. Any suggestions? These curtains are OLD (early 90's) so I don't expect them to make it through a ton of washings, that's why I'm asking for help before I attempt again. laugh.gif blush.gif

ETA: I say old, because IMO as far as campers go, a 90's camper is sorta old. laugh.gif blush.gif

Would Clorox bleach pen or Oxy Clean work? I'm picturing it as brown (almost rust colored) streaks.

Yes, that's how it really looks. The curtains are a light blue and most areas are light blue and the rest are brown (dusty, but not dust you can just wipe off) looking. Not really rust. I haven't tried Oxy, but never really had luck with it before. Chlorox probably wouldn't be a good idea, I'd think.

I've definitely seen these be treated with Oxy Clean.

Good luck!

my most effective stain treatment is spraying on hydrogen peroxide and a stain treatment like shout or oxy clean (the spray on gel kind). Sometimes it doesn't work on dirt and really old stains though. Maybe for the kind of stain you're dealing with I would try soaking it overnight in cold water, then washing them with one of those new Tide stain release gel packs. I just bought some of those, and the two times I've tried them they've worked really well. thumb.gif

Thanks. I will try those suggestions. I did soak it all night in cold vinegar water, but nothing. I'm not sure these curtains were ever washed. rolleyes.gif
