Just wanted to start a post to see who works out, and if you do weight training, cardio, or both?? What is your favorite weight training exercise and/or what cardio training do you do??

I try to........when I'm not getting sick or some catastraphe happening around here. For Cardio I have an Eliptical machine. I try to get on at least 3x wk. Weight training is the biggy for me. I can get in shape by just doing weight training but not by just doing cardio. I break it up by doing chest/tricep, back, shoulders/biceps, legs. I do abs on cardio days. I'm currently trying to lift heavy for 6 reps to build up the muscle I loss during pregnancy.

ETA: I like the basics....squats, benching, deadlifts, pullups etc.

Well, here is my routine........I work out Mon-Wed-Fri. The first week, I'll do my whole upper body on Monday and Friday, and lower body (also abs) on Wednesday. The following week, that switches.......Lower body on Monday and Friday and upper on Wednesday. You have to have an intense workout to make this work right. You should finish each workout in less than an hour. I haven't been doing cardio, but normally, I would do cardio on the days in between (Tues-Thurs-Saturday).

I work out regularly. I am OBSESSED with it! I didn't for a few weeks, but that was bc my house was a wreck and baby was super fussy. But I LOVE it! I do The Firm and I just ordered Power 90, so I'm going to put The Firm off for 90 days and see how well Power 90 works and if it makes a huge diff. I love it though. Before I got pregnant I was working out every day and bc of that it stopped giving me results because I was working the same muscles and doing the same routines, but I couldn't help it...I loved it too much, and it wasn't about getting slim and toned, it was about it being so fun and such a struggle. I can't wait to start Power 90, I just ordered it the other day! thumb.gif

Oh and The Firm is weights and aerobics and cardio combined...Power 90 is the same I think.

forgot to add that my favorite exercise is working my triceps..........my least favorite are back exercises! smile.gif When I do cardio, I normally ride a bike. I can't use those eliptical machines.......my legs are too long, so it's like I'm shuffling my feet instead of taking my regular strides! smile.gif haha

Well, my favorite is complex step aerobics or just regular floor routines. When I do The Firm I feel like I'm cheerleading again almost, lmao. Not really, but it took a few times of doing it to get used to it. I like anything!

I dance and teach hip hop classes at the gym. I also do weight training for my rear, legs and arms. I also do about 75 crunches per day along with squats.

I try to go walking everyday. then I switch back and forth between doing a tae bo video and working out on the total gym. If I have something else I will skip one or both, but that is my basic.

I take a walk every night with the family...we usually go about 1 mile but it's not too brisk. dry.gif I try to get on the bike at home at least once a day but that's not really been happening since Lauren seems to have other ideas about what mommy should be doing. I have been doing well with my weight watchers plan though and hopefully, by the time the new gym that they are building down the road opens, I will be less "fluffy" and more inclined to get into work out gear and to the gym.

I use to work out regularly. I miss it so much. It's tough now w/ 3 litle ones and working nights. I feel so much better when working out. My favorite to work on is back, shoulders and arms. Always love trying any "new" ab exercise.
Ok, now I wanna go exercise................................... biggrin.gif

I will add that I am constantly lifting and moving at work. wink.gif

I do! I do step twice a week, a basic training (weight training) class once a week, and try to get some time in on the weight machines at the gym. I feel so good after I work out thumb.gif
I try to get my Tae Bo tape in once a week, too.

I used to be so good about getting up and hitting the gym at 5am every morning during the work week until a couple of months ago..now I go when I can in the evenings.

When I go, I do 45 minutes on the eliptical, 30 on the bike and then do weight training for my arms, legs AND LET'S NOT FORGET THE BUTT BLASTER! Sometimes, I switch out the eliptical for teh treadmill and run.

I workout at least three or four times a week. I do a Turbo Kickboxing class at the gym twice a week for cardio. Sometimes if the the class is cancelled, or I miss it because my DH comes home late and I don't have someone to watch Wil, I just get on the treadmill, which is boring. I also take a Conditioning class that uses weights, bands, those big balls, the bar. I somehow have learned to love bicep curls with the bar! I have always had twig arms (hereditary) so it's nice to finally see a little definition. You would laugh at me if you actually saw them! We do abs in both classes too. So I get a little bit of it all, but I like to hear how you have such a great schedule!! I'm clueless when it comes to what muscles I'm working. The kickboxing has really helped tone every part of my body, but I need help losing that extra skin around the belly from the baby. Any advice on working the midsection?? I'm sure the couple beers here and there don't help!!! beer.gif

I just got back into working out. After about a month of all body training, I switched to a 3 day split routing M, W, F.

M- Legs

W- Back, Biceps

F- Chest, Shoulders, Triceps.

Abs- everytime

Not too much cardio. Only 10 minutes or so to warm up. I'd love to do more, but I'm pretty tired after the weight training to do more and I only have 3 days I can realistically get to the gym right now or I'd do 40 mins or so on the other two days.

Oh, and eating LOTS of protein.

I do the slim in 6 series 6 days/week. It includes cardio and weights. I love it. oh and I do abs daily with that also. When I do a good program several days a week, eat good and drink lots of water, I drop weight fast.
