I guess I should probably be doing kick counts. I don't remember how much she is supposed to be kicking. Anyone know?

Since I've been going back and forth to the doc for this exact reason...I know. He told me that I need at least 10 kicks per day. Which seemed low to me, but as long as I have 10 within a 24 hour period, I'm fine.

wow...we tell our patient when you are laying with hands on belly feeling for movement after lunch/dinner should get 8-10 movents in about 2 hours!!! That is big difference..huh?
ETA: But anything is movement (Elbow, kick, roll, hiccup) so maybe that is difference if we would just be counting "kicks" This post has been edited by jacobsmama on May 2 2006, 03:40 PM -------------------- Mother to Jacob & Conner. Wife to Loren |

I thought 10 in 24 hours seemed a little low. I think I remember counting hourly when I was PG with the Boy so, it must be the 8-10 one. I know I am getting lots of movement tho, exp at night. This kid is gonna break THAT habit fast!

I was told both when I was pg with Andrew. In the beginning, my doctor told me that I should be able to feel at least 10 movements in an hour or two. But when I got bigger and closer to the end and Roo was more and more inactive, she said that I should only worry if I didn't feel at least 10 in one whole day. Usually when I felt him moving around, he would be kicking and rolling like crazy... waaayy more than 10 in an hour, but it would be all in a one or two hour lump and the rest of the day I'd feel nothing.

I think this is the case. They expect more in the beginning, less towards the end. -------------------- Rae SAHM to Wil (4) and Wesley (2) ~ Wife to Richard 10/20/01

I had to chart mine for two weeks I think (week 32 and 33) and it was sooo hard because I was working full-time and hardly noticed when she did kick. This time should be easier ... because I'm at home all day.
