In my quest to find some meaning to my life ( rolleyes.gif ) I've been considering taking some yoga classes. Has anyone done Bikram yoga? I'm a total beginner, and I'm afraid I might hurt myself tongue.gif The center I would go to does classes in a heated room... WTF?! huh.gif I think i might die.

Yes, Bikram is where they heat the room. Sweat it out of you! I have never tried it myself because I don't like to feel hot, but some people LOVE it. I would totally give it a shot Amy! I'm not a huge yoga fan only because I like more intense cardio workouts. But I've done a little bit of it and found it to be very relaxing/centering. May be just what you're looking for. GL!

I've only tried Bikram once. At our gym they charge extra for it. I like yoga okay. Pilates is more my thing, though. happy.gif

Do they have a class that you can try out? Maybe a beginner's class or a private session? I would suggest trying both pilates and yoga. thumb.gif

GL and let us know how it goes!

I have done some Yoga but I have not tried that. I like Yoga but I am not a good at relaxing. I have not figured out how to do it yet. I love pilates.

Haven't done it, but it's entrigued me. I enjoy the sauna and would welcome all the benefits yoga can provide.

My gf is a yoga instructor, and the only yoga I've done is with her on our porch during vacations. I LOVE it. Being a person who is perpetually in a state of being physically anxious, it helps me to realize how good it feels being relaxed, not watching tv relaxed but really deeply relaxed in every way. Haven't heard about the sweating component- but it kind of makes sense- being really hot loosens your muscles up.
