Is anyone feeding their baby table food yet? Jasons doc told me at his last appointmet that I should start giving him some cheerios, rice crispies, or bread on his tray. He said it will help his hand-mouth cordination. He really likes bread and eats rice crispies, but he gags on the cheerios.

I am glad you posted this... My ped said the same thing but I have been hesistant because Ashley kinda choked on a cheerio too and I have been afraid to try again. I am interested in hearing what others are doing.

I did give Ashley some mashed carrots yesterday from the table..does that count? hehe

Brianna has been eating table food for about 3 weeks now and she loves it!! She gets sooo excited when she sees the box of cheerios. She also choked a bit on the cheerios but does fine now. Cheerios are really hard for them to actually "choke" on because they get soft and mushy so fast. I also give her "Zwieback" toast. She loves that because it gives her something to gnaw on. Just keep a close eye on them when you do start. They will get used to table foods really fast. And things get really messy really fast too. tongue.gif We have cheerios ALL over the floor.

That's when our dog came in handy laugh.gif but we used to put Cheerios in the walker tray so of course they'd be from one end of the house to the other. When we got tired of stepping around them, in came the dog and no more cheerios!! laugh.gif

But any table food like cooked carrots, potatoes, etc, etc.....and it's great for them to eat too!

And yep, just watch it, but pretty soon they'll be eating you out of house and home smile.gif
