I read a couple of books to Ashley every night. These are really short books but she loves them. She giggles at the pictures and loves to turn the pages...sometimes the wrong direction. LOL

What do you read to your munchkin? I want to get a good nursery rhyme book soon.

I try to read to Peyton every day, at least two or three books. We have the ABC set from Sesame street, which are really short; and we also subscribe to Scholastic and are getting all the Dr. Suess books...so far Fox in Socks is his least favorite....way too long and too many words!!! My DH will sometimes read him paragraphs out of the book he is reading to soothe him...its great to hear him read out loud!

Peyton would much rather eat the books, but he still lets us read to him!

FYI..we read Baby Oh Baby the Places You'll Go, to be read in Utero to Peyton while he was in the womb..he still gets a kick out of it!! rolling_smile.gif

As a teacher, I can't stress how important it is to read to your child. We know that in order to teach a child to read, they have to have been read to at least something like 500,000 times. If you wait until they get to school, they spend a long time trying to catch up!

We love to read to Jaci- my dh reads to her in English, and I read her books in Spanish- I love the Froggy series- even in English. I just love how is mom always says "Frooooggggyyyy!" rolling_smile.gif

Yeah? What is it?

I read the Disney books to Zach. I head them when I was a baby, and funny enough, so did DH. I had them in English, he had them in French. So now we alternate.

I speak a little *tiny* bit of spanish, so I want to teach Spanish to Zach too, and I'll learn it at the same time - our house is nuts: we have little stickies on just about everything, with the name in Spanish, and the sign in ASL.

Hee!!

Froggy Goes To School, Froggy Plays Soccer...etc. There are a bunch of books with the same character - Froggy. We have about 5 of them and they are a favorite here too thumb.gif

I do read to Nicholas and since my eldest has become quite the little reader, he too reads to his brothers! That is always nice for a change! Nicholas' favorite books are the soft, cloth ones. We have several and he will grab the first one I read and play with it while he looks and listens to the others.

We *try* to get Zach to listen long enough to follow the story..but he usually tries to chew the books. So now when he pokes at a picture, we tell him what it is, and we try to explain it to him. I know, he's only 7 1/2 months old... lol but yuo never know!!
