Ashley is excited that she's playing soccer for the school again this year. She's really looking forward to it. While I love watching her play, I'm not sure I am ready for the time commitment. I am sure I will get into it more as the games start, I always dread it in the beginning but then get into the games.

I am debating putting Thomas in soccer, I have till the 15th to register him. It's Upwards....how much time commitment should I expect?

When Ashley played for the YMCA, it wasn't bad, she had one practice a week and one game on Saturday every week. Everything was at the YMCA, so no traveling. Last year was the first time Ashley played for the school, and I was surprised at the time that was involved. She had three practices a week and then when games started, she had two, sometimes three, games a week. But, the thing that surprised me was the distance we traveled for games. Some games were 45 minutes away. So, I tried to convince Ashley to play either for the YMCA or the local community league, but she really wants to play for the school. So, I reluctantly agreed. I would recommend you call and ask about the time commitment for both games and practices. As you can tell, the commitment can vary based on the league itself. -------------------- |

I just reread my message and it sounds like they have soccer 6 days a week, but when games start, they usually don't have practice. If there are only two games that week, they might have practice one day that week. But, I, like most of you would prefer one day a week. It seems like most school sports seem to require more of a time commitment.
