Are you currently or not currently using D-P and if so what do you like/dislike about it? How long have you been taking it?

Any other information you can give me on it would be helpful. Also, is anyone taking it for endometriosis?

I heard the risks associated with the Depo-Provera include an increased risk of bone loss... so never tried.

I used it about six months ago and hated it, I had terrible nausea and headaches. But I'm also very sensitive, so it may not be that bad for someone else.

It also didn't take as long to get out of my system as they said....Macie was born a mere 10 months later laugh.gif wub.gif

I used it before I had Raygen. I was on it for a year and loved it.
Then I went like 5 months without it and then I started using it again and I noticed it had a diffrent effect on me. I had no sex drive what so ever, and I got break outs.

It was just diffrent each time I went without and then used it again. So be careful.

I've always heard you can gain quite a bit of weight from it. So I've been too scared to try it. blush.gif

I have nothing good to say about the depo shot. When I was on it I got depressed alot, had no sex drive, and when I stopped getting it I got AF every 2 weeks for about 3 months. Dh and I started TTC a few months after I stopped getting the shot and it was 5 years before I got pregnant with Keith. I don't know if it's different now, I stopped it about 8 years ago. And I'm sure it affects people differently. But my experience with it was not good at all.

I used the depo shot from may 1996 to october 1999. As far as side effects, I only experienced weight gain and that wasn't all that bad. It also took along time to get pregnant again when we decided we wanted to. All in all I was happy with it.

I used it for about a year and hated it. I was about 17.

I had my period for like a month straight, then nothing for 2 and then a month straight again. And when I had it it was heavy. I was tired (probably anemic) and it spun me into a horrible, self destructive, depression.

I was doing research online when I stumbled across a forum about depo and other girls about my age that had tired to commit suicide and other things b/c of the depression.

I got off of it and got help and I've NEVER been like that again. I wasn't like that before either, so I have to believe it was the depo. So for me, never ever again. But for some people....

I got it one time, and gained 30 pounds. It took a year or more for it to get out of my system. I bled for 8 months straight. I think that it has helped cause some of my secondary infertility.

Thanks for all the BTDT info. All of what you've said is what I've read too. That's what I thought and why I'm not listening to my doc about it. tongue.gif
