Nepal goddess

How bizarre is this??? blink.gif

Does anyone know how women are treated in this society? This girl is a goddess basically until she turns into a woman and then they find a new goddess. That makes me think women are not well regarded.

It is so hard to understand this. But people believe what they are taught.

That is insane and horrible imo. They made her spend the night in the dark with sacrificial slaughter goat heads??? Then take her from her parents?

That is just sad to me. I wonder why it is that they only think she is a goddess until she reaches puberty.

Not so, at the bottom of the article:

Nepalese folklore holds that men who marry a former kumari will die young, and so many girls remain unmarried and face a life of hardship.

So she basically goes from goddess to trash. sad.gif

Your point is good, not my culture so I don't understand.
