I haven't been giving Emma baby food for lunch, but I think I am going to start now. What should I give her?
right now she has breakfast- oatmeal and fruit small bottle 10-ish 6-8 oz bottle 1-2ish 6-8oz bottle 5-ish dinner riceceral and veggie 7pm 8oz bottle bed so if I add lunch, I was thinking on holding off on the small after breakfast bottle and giving her the 6-8oz bottle a little earlierlike 8-9ish. then offer lunch around noon and then ahe'll be on a 3 meal, 3 bottle schedule which seems nice. also have you started using a sippy cup for water or any finger foods like cheerios yet? When I started giving Thomas 3 meals a day I started the sippy cup. For us it was an easy transition. I'd give him a cup of formula with each meal (probably about 4-5 oz). Then he'd get a full cup at around 3, and that was all he needed.

I did it about the same as Naomi. With finger foods, I did it at "snack times", around 3-4 I'd just put them in the high chair with a few little pieces to experiment. When they got better at it, we started including them in the meal. Scrambled eggs, waffle pieces, soft fruits, etc. For veggies I'd cook the daylights out of them so they were super soft.

We gave Dylan some cheerios last nite - I broke them in half - it was kinda cute watching him try try to pick them up AND get them in his mouth - the first one he got in his mouth was on his tongue and he gagged like it was choking him even though it was no where near his throat It was quite amusing - but then he figured out to move it to his gums and chew it....then he was soo excited but it was still a project for him to get them IN his mouth!!!
As for meals here is Dylan's day AM - Oatmeal/fruit, 6 oz bottle (7-8 am) Lunch - veggie/fruit, 6 oz bottle 3-4 - 7oz. bottle PM - 6 ish - meat/veggie/fruit (some combination of that) 6:30 ish before bed - 6 -7 oz bottle -------------------- |

ok, so Dylan gets 4 bottles? I've been giving Emma 3 bottles, is that enough? They are about 8 ounces each so she is getting about 24 ouncesoverall as long as she sleeps through the night -------------------- ~*~*~*~Edie, Jason 9/23/02, and Emma 11/19/06~*~*~*~

I just started last month giving Keith three meals a day (like baby food mixed with cereal or just baby food). He loves cheerios and those little star puff things. He doesn't want anything to do with a sippy. But he does really well drinking out of a cup with no lid as long as someone else is holding on to it. So I'm hoping maybe he'll skip the sippy all together and just go to a cup.
