Me and DF Jake are planning to get married next year but we have different views on how we want our wedding. He wants it to be a low key ceremony dry.gif while I want everone there and have a big do!! He wants it in a registry office and I want i on a beach somewhere nice and hot! This is my most looked forward to day since I was little and I want it to be the 2nd best day of my life! (after having my beautiful daughter-nothing beats that!) How can we come to some sort of a comprimise on this? And while we are talking about it anyone got any ideas for themes? Want something quite different but not too wacky!!thanks smile.gif ~xKirstyx~

Toughie. How about a small affair somewhere hot? Close family only. That way you get a dress, hairdo, that stuff, but he gets to keep it somewhat calm.

CONgRATS!

I'm getting married in october we are having 100 guests ( not too big not too small). from what I read the rule of thumb on guests is if you haven't seen the person in 2 years they don't NEED to be on the list.

As far as location, go where you want for the wedding and have the honeymoon where he wants.

Also many things may change as per budget.

And our theme is more fallish " perfect pair " favors and lot's of fall colors. with 1940's vibe classic .

CONGRATULATIONS!!! How exciting!

A good compromise might be to have it on the beach where you want, but keep the guest list small. Since you want to be married on the beach, maybe you could go for a luau or Hawaiian theme.

Or, you could go on a carribean cruise and get married on a beach somewhere. You could invite a few family and special friends. Since you just have a small wedding, you could have a huge reception when you return (or a bon voyage party before you leave)

Just some thoughts. HTH.

I liked the idea of Dee Dee (Mommy to Ashley) about having a beach wedding with a small number of guests & coming home following the honeymoon to a reception party. I think Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani had something along those lines, either two weddings/receptions. Or one wedding & two receptions.

Good luck, and CONGRATS on the engagment!! bride.gif tux.gif

Wow, thanks for the great ideas everyone! I'm so excited already, I think i'll be jumping up and down on the day! I'm really set on having it on beach and DF is coming around, yay!! Think I can persuade him to have a guest list of approx 50, that will probably be fine for me too! By the way, I just have to say that you are all so friendly on here!!thanks again!

**Just have to add in , my 10 month old daughter is going to be a bridesmaid, can't wait to see how adorable shes going to look in a little dress!!! Okay Kirsty, time to calm down! rolleyes.gif
