I didn't really know anywhere else to ask about this...
About two months ago I was in the tub washing and I had a sensitive area in my vaginal region. It was tender, but nothing out of the ordinary, I just figured I'd nicked myself shaving. But when I inspected a little further I found a lump. It's located basically inside my outer labia on the left side and I can actually grab it within my fingers and move it around beneath my skin. It's about the size of an almond. I thought it would go away... that it was an ingrown hair or something at first, and I forgot about it for a while, but it's still there (same size and location). Has anyone ever had something like this? I was wondering if there are glands or lymph nodes there... maybe it could be something like that. Of course google led me to cancer... and I don't want to think about that, but I'm going to go ahead and make an appointment just to be sure. Any experience with this? -------------------- ~Rachel~ Godmommy to;Connor (September '04) & Caydence (August '06)

I am no expert, but I think the glands can sometimes become blocked.
If it is the same size, perhaps it is some sort of harmless cyst? Or a fatty deposit type thing? Best to get it checked, I am sure it is nothing. It could be a deep ingrown hair. I sometimes get ingrown hairs on my upper arms that cause a little bump and can be there for months. -------------------- Nina, Mama to Emily Kate, Odessa Jean & Aysun Aleisha.

I think it's a good sign it hasn't gotten any bigger, but I'd still see the doctor.

cysts are very common, and do last a long time. The fact that it is moveable is also another good sign.
I would get it checked out for piece of mind though. -------------------- Stacy, wife to Peter, mom to Caleb, Jakob, and Andrew

Try not to panic ... I know harder said than done. It could be all the things listed above, but it's good that you are getting it checked.

I had a cyst on my upper thigh once, but it was more like a big mosquito bite that never went away. It was called a sebacious cyst, and it had to be drained, which was no picnic but it never came back, which apparently, they sometimes do. Just a harmless, gross thing, nothing more. I'm sure it's the same for you, but it's always better to hear it from the expert. Good luck and KUP.

I had a Bartholin's Cyst some 3 years ago. Sometimes they can become infected and very sore! The Dr. gave me some antibiotics and it cleared up within a week. I think your best bet is to go see your gyno right away and get checked. Better to get at it early and know what it is than to be scared.

I would definately go and see a doctor about it. I know not the pleasant thing in the world. But just for peace of mind I would go.
