Just from the advice I was given, I was told not to diet while BF because baby gets all of his/her nutrients from what you are taking in, so it's not a good idea.
As for the product itself, that I am really not sure of. Let me see if I can find anything anywhere else and post again if I can....... -------------------- Beverly, DH Eje, and mom to PJ, 20 Leah, 18 Sara, 16 Anders, 5

I am with the others, I have heard it is not a good idea to diet when nursing, but I haven't read anything that says SlimFast is either good or bad when BF.

Hi there! Here's information on weight-loss and nursing:.
http://www.kellymom.com/nutrition/mom-weightloss.html http://www.mother-2-mother.com/weightloss.htm http://breastfeeding.hypermart.net/weightloss.html Slim-Fast isn't recommended during nursing because the baby gets everything from what you take in, and if you're drinking Slim-Fast in place of meals, baby won't get enough. It's OK to drink BETWEEN meals as an extra source of protein, vitamins, and minerals, but it's not good to REPLACE meals with it. You still need to take in at least 1800 calories a day, from wholesome, nutritous foods. Hope this helps a little! |
