DH got me a Chi flat iron for Christmas. I'm still trying to get the hang of it. What products do you use for heat protection? Also, how do you keep it from looking like I have tons of split ends? blink.gif I used Biosilk, but it didn't seem to do much...

What a great gift! thumb.gif Your hair is soo pretty both ways! When I use a flat iron I use a product, just about everyone makes one, that is specifically for flat irons. They're heat protectant type sprays, you spritz on each section before you iron and they really help it look smooth at the ends. I think the one I'm using now is from Nexxus, but you can get them from Loreal, Herbal Essences, Bed Head, etc...

I have a regular flat iron, but I used my SILs CHI this weekend and she says she can get me one. I love it. CHI actually makes a flat iorn spray. I got mine at a hair salon, but I bet you can get it at any beauty supply place. Your hair looks great girl. thumb.gif

Great hair!

I use a pomade - any kind will do over the top when you are done - just lightly

Erin uses one all the time. I'll get some advice from her.

Forgot earlier, it's better to do a few quick passes over the same strand than to let the iron sit on one spot (especially the ends) for any real length of time wink.gif

awsome, I wanted a CHI but my hairdresser talked me out of it wink.gif

I had some great stuff I used but its hard to find now it was the bast stuff from keeping the split ends away and the frizzys away. It was Caviar spray and it actually smelled good and you could run your hands through your hair no problem. It was a bit pricy but I was more than happy to pay it since it worked on my ahir and it did last about 2-3 months. I need to find it again.

have fun with your CHI

I use Shine Shock by John Frieda, I think that's who makes it. It's the Brunette line. After I flat iron, I rub that through my hair and on the ends to make it even smoother and extra shiny! I also use a leave in conditioner after when it's wet, before I blowdry. I think that helps with the split ends. I love the Neutrogena leave-in, but can't seem to find it anymore. So I bought another kind I can't think of the name, bright green bottle. But I think any brand of leave-in is probably fine.

You are so pretty Amy! smile.gif

She is!!! wub.gif

I don't have a Chi, but my flat iron works pretty good. I use something similar to biosilk before I straighten. I also dry my hair with a round brush to straighten it some...it makes it easier...I have naturally curly hair, too. It's just really fine and thin. wink.gif

You look HOT Amy!!! I use the Chi serum/spray. I don't have a problem, I don't think, with the split end look so no help there. blush.gif

I use this as well. I really love it and it really takes care of the friz and flyaways that I tend to get. thumb.gif

awww it is beautiful...I have really think hair and I got some straightening balm from my hairdresser to put on my hair when it is wet before I dry it and straighten it. It protects it from damage with the straightner. wub.gif
