Okay I'm getting a little obsessed with this board and posting everywhere...but I love hearing others opinions! I have medium to long hair. I typically straighten it with a straightening iron, or I must say it's usually in a ponytail. But I'm wondering how to get those loose big curls that a lot of the stars have? Does it take straightening your hair first to get the silkiness and then using a large barrel curling iron?? I'm not into a lot of products, so I don't want to have to gel my hair a thousand times or use a ton of scrunching mousse to get this look. My hair has some natural curl, but it just looks messy when I let it dry naturally. Any advice??
Now I'm not talking perm curls. I want those big curls that sometimes Britney Spears has. I'm sorta laughing that I just said that...!!!!!!!!!! -------------------- Rae SAHM to Wil (4) and Wesley (2) ~ Wife to Richard 10/20/01

Same here - then take a small amount of texturing cream and work thru curls with fingers, finish with hair spray.

Professionals generally do it by securing wet or damp hair in sections all over your head...and twisting the sections and securing at the ends.
![]() You said big curls, but from reading it, I assume you mean the sorta wavy look? Like Jennifer Aniston wears a lot? If not, the curling iron is the best bet ![]() This post has been edited by GavinsMommy on Apr 13 2005, 08:39 AM -------------------- |

Yeah, I mean the big wavy kind. Thanks for the advice! I need to go out and get a curling iron and give it a shot. I've tried twisting sections and then blow drying it. It sorta worked, but gosh, it's so hard to do your own hair! It never looks like the way it would from a salon!!! EVER!!
