Babys first word, how old and what it was???

Member Group: Members Posts: 65 Member No.: 2,066 Joined: 22-June 05	Im just curious to know how old a baby actually is before they say their first words. Cause i swear my son has spoken his first word at 6 months, he says mommy and mom all the time, and i know thats what hes saying, cause he will lay there crying and look at me and say mommy or mom, it just melts my heart, is it possible that that is what hes really saying? I was just wanting to know what ur babys first words and how old they were for help/advice.

It wasn't long after that it turned into Daddy. Her first word was "Bye Bye" and by the time she was 6 mos old she could say "Bye Bye Da-Da" on the phone to her daddy (he worked out of town during the week.
