Well last week I started putting Megan to bed w/o nursing. I contemplated on having Ryan do it since I knew that would be easy, but with work being so crazy and my time with my girls at a minimum I didn't want to give up putting Megan to bed. So instead of sitting in the rocker and nursing her like normal, I started standing and rocking her then just lay her in bed and VIOLA! she's been going to sleep w/o a fuss. She's not even asking for it at bedtime. A shock to me, but I'll take it. happy.gif The funny thing is once I started doing this she's been sleeping through the night almost every night. She hasn't done that in months. She used to until she got her molars. Weird.

She's also not asking for it as much in the morning. We still aren't completely weaned on that one, but I'm confident that by her 2nd birthday next month we'll be done. Really makes me sad that this chapter of my life will be over very quickly here, but I'm relieved too. Now Dh can't hold that excuse over my head anymore as to why I need to get up every time. happy.gif blush.gif

Thank you to all who gave me advice on weaning and told me it was going to be ok. I was nervous at first, but she's actually doing quite well. We aren't totally there, but it's been painless for both of us so far. I always wanted weaning to be a very non-traumatic (is that even a word? happy.gif ) experience and it was w/Kylie and so far it is with Megan.

Yay for Megan~ thumb.gif I was just thinking this morning how nice it is to be responsible ONLY for myself when it comes to taking medication or drinking, etc. It's been a while since I could say that. wink.gif

wow that is awesome. i am going to try your method of standing and rocking. he still wakes at least 2 times in the middle of the night to eat. i know its a comfort thing and not a need to eat though b/c he falls back asleep to quickly, also we are starting to put him in his own room this week to see how that goes with sleeping through the night. he is good during th eday with out on most days but the night is when he wants all the time.
