To start Jon and I are together.
quick backround on his family like i have mentioned before. They do not get along. his brother and sister do not speak to his parents. (for good reason) He is the only one who does and he only does it beause his dad helps manage his finances.
They (especialy his step-mom) are not very nice people. Dating me has been a real risk for him getting cut off as well. So meeting them has never been an option.
This past thanksgiving Jon invited me to go to his brothers house and meet His brother and sister in law.
This was BIG!
But work didnt allow me to go. He then stayed here because I couldnt go. He wanted to be with me for the holiday. Which he ended up doing after he went to his parents at his mom's demand.
Anyway he hasn't seen his brother in about 4 years and going was really important apparently because he keeps saying how he wished i would have been able to go and how upset he is we didn't go.I mean he doesn't blame me but he makes statements about his dissapontment we didnt go.
How the heck do i fix this??
All isn't totally lost, He did invite me to meet his parents this weekend but when we got there they had convinently left. shocker...
But what do I do to make this up to him?? i know it isnt but i feel like it's all my fault.

Why don't you just invite his brother to your house for dinner this weekend?

I think inviting his brother over is a great idea. And, as badly as you feel, you just have to let it go as a choice he made. You can tell him how much you appreciate his thoughtfulness but want him to know on your side of things, you don't expect him to choose between you and his family.

They live about 6 hrs away. It's a good Idea and I'm gonna mention it to him.
I think maybe I can try to take a day off from work and we can go down then or invite them up and take a friday off because they live 6 hrs away and that way i can entertiain them. I'll let you know what happens.
thanks guys!
