I was trying to be extra good this time around. Eating right. Exercising. But, it seems like I'm going to pack on the pounds again. My first I gained 50 or so, second I gained 45 (and she was born a few weeks early), and now at 16 weeks I've already gained about 20 pounds. sad.gif Am I doing something wrong, or am I destined to gain so much weight? I didn't really watch what I ate the first two times, so I was hoping this time would be different.

some people just gain a lot. I gained around 50 or so with all mine, and 7 months after #3, I am still 30 pounds up. sad.gif My advice is watch your sodium so you don't gain to much water weight, and just enjoy your pregnancy.

I ate very healthy when I was PG and I gained 85 pounds. I was only 120 when I got PG. Sometimes, even if you do the right things, you still gain.... but in the end, it's all worth it. I lost 35lbs on the day I gave birth. smile.gif

hug.gif I'm sorry! That's so frustrating I know. But don't get discouraged.... if you keep eating right and exercising I'm sure the weight will come off a lot easier after you have the baby! I gained all my baby weight eating too much junk and I STILL haven't lost it. dry.gif

Like the others said, don't stress about it. Just enjoy this time...you know you are doing what you can to not gain excessive weight, and that's what matters. I have been lucky...well, sort of laugh.gif I mean, it's not like I'm small to begin with. With my first, I gained 16 pounds. With my second, I broke even. At my 16 week appointment with this one, I had lost .2 pounds. I'll see where I am tomorrow for my 20 week appointment. All women are different in regards to baby weight. I just happen to not gain anywhere except my belly. But I wouldn't worry about it, either way. You can always lose it afterwards, if you want. Just try to relax and enjoy the ride.

I'm trying my best not to worry about it. I have major self esteem/confidence issues so I tend to be nuts sometimes laugh.gif . I'm hoping that eating right/exercising will help it fall off easier.

Yes, it will! Besides, this is a time in your life that you can never get back...enjoy it! Pregnancy is not time to be worried about weight. I mean, you don't want to spiral out of control with junk food or anything, but you sound like you are doing good.

I now realize that I am a "hardgainer". A hardgainer is someone who is naturally thin and has an extremely difficult time gaining weight of any kind. Because of this, why would I listen to someone who gains muscle easily?
Anything they say will not be relevant to me. It all makes sense now, but too bad I had to waste so many years just to figure it out.

Just enjoy your time. Every mother has different experience in this case.
Do not take stress about it else you will miss your most precious time.

Every person has got a unique issues during pregnancy, so the same is applicable to you too. But insist you not to get worried with these issues, else it can be detrimental to your health. Try to follow a healthy regime in consultation with your gynecologist.
