Does anyone know if it is normal to experience pain during intercourse after delivering .. it's been 8 wks and I have had my post partum and he gave me the go ahead.. all was ok. I experience a little uncomfortable pain afterwards too. I'm sorry if TMI.. I'm just curious if I should be worried. Thank you!

thats pretty normal your body is going through a LOT of changes, if you have any bleeding or severe pain then you probably need to call your doctor!!

I've read that if you have pain or discomfort during intercourse, it could be because your cervix has dropped and your DH/SO is hitting it with his penis. Or it could be an infection. Or like you said, you just had a baby...it's still recovering. I wouldn't worry unless it's excruciating and you are showing other symptoms like bleeding, fever or anything like that.

It's probably pretty normal. If it continues to hurt everytime or it is excruciating, I'd call your doc.

It took me a lot longer than 8 weeks to heal completely, and I definitely had pain for an additional 8 weeks beyond that. Your skin is much thinner due to hormones, my doc explained. This makes it much more sensitive. If you had any tearing, that adds to the healing time. Give yourself time to heal, and, um, just be creative a little while longer

thanks.. makes me feel much better. Also... another ?.. my stomach seems to be swollen where my uterus had gone down. I'm pretty small so after I had Daryck there was only a little loose skin.. now my skin has tightened back, but it feels.. "swollen"underneath.. I do situps and my muscles seem to be underneath this "swollen" feeling.. I'm horrible at explaining things... I hope this makes since. It almost feels as though my uterus popped back out... could this be normal as well?

I think it does take time for it to shrink back to its normal size. I remember a nurse advising me to massage it through the skin---it's a muscle, and it will help activate the muscle to manipulate it.
