Does your child's school (public or private elementary school) offer any kind of before or after school program, paid or free? Just curious. Some do around here, some don't.

Most of ours do, public and private. The private schools base it on a sliding income scale. The twins' school does it hourly, $4.00/hr per kid.

No official program in the elementary school here, but the public library is in the same building and they do have free afterschool programs.

The high schools have all kinds of activities.

Kait's current school had programs for kids up to age 12, you have to pay for them, its a private.

Christian's school does. 30mins additional before school. And up to 5 hours after school. I am not sure of the cost of the 30mins prior to school, but the after school is $90/mo.

Not sure about public schools though. I have not heard of it, but there may be a few that do.

I forgot I posted this! laugh.gif The school closest to us (public) has a Boys and Girls Club program that gives the children free after school care, but the problem is that I do not care for the school itself. The next closest school I'd like him to go to, I believe does not offer anything. Other schools in our district also have after school care, but they are all run by different programs. I don't want to take him to a school just because of their after care programs. Hopefully I will be working at night by then and wont have to think about it! happy.gif On a side note, we have 16 different elementary schools in our district to choose from...what a headache!

Ashley is only in preschool, but I purposely chose a preschool that did not have an after-care program or daycare program. Some schools are good about separating the two, and others not so much. I don't need a dcp, I wanted a preschool program.
