I've never noticed in past pregnancies when I lost my mucus plug..I know that not everyone's comes out prior to labor.

But...the last few days I've been having some pretty strong contractions, but nothing regular and not more than 6 in one hour..at least not on a consistant basis. Like maybe 6 or more in 1 hour then 2 the next hour.
Then today I've noticed horrible back pain and also I just went to the bathroom and there was lots of ..uhmm..shall we say stuff that looks like a mucus plug could consist of. But it wasn't bloody or anything, just clear. But I've not had any type of discharge or mucus down there...so I've gone from absolutely nothing to quite a bit just now. Could this be my mucus plug starting to come out?

i dunno, that doesn't sound very good. I didn't have any mucus plug discharge either. I would call your doc in the morning and let them know what's up. I think you are a bit early in your pg to be loosing the plug, I think you loose that sometime after 37 weeks.
Drink some water, and get some rest.

sounds like it could be. they said it looks like discharge and could be tinted brown or have trace amount of blood in it. like you, i never saw mine either blush.gif

if you continue leaking, see your doc asap. even if it is just a drip, if it is constant, it could be your water and it is a bit too early for us to meet Alexandra. hug.gif

Probably TMI, but when I lost mine with Madison it looked like a chunk of, well, mucus, about the size of a cork.

sounds like mine. Mine came out in two parts with K when I went to the bathroom. It looked like a ginormous blob of snot was laying onthe bottom of the toilet. With Lauren, it came out earlier (maybe 35 weeks) and came out in parts. Just chunks of gelatonous grodyness on the TP when I wiped over the course of a few days. puke.gif

Mine was actually bloody, but it was quite gunky. Sounds like it though. I hope not, it's to early for us to meet that little sweetheart. Call your doctor first thing and keep us posted. hug.gif

That's how mine was, and right around the same time you are. Dont' fret too much, but do check with your Dr if you continue to leak or have a lot of discharge or if it is bloody . The mucus plug is designed to keep bacteria out of the uterus, and if you dont' have the baby within a short tiem of losing it it will regrow in a sense. It's your bodies way of keeping baby protected. HUGS and hang in there.

sounds familiar ---snotty nastiness is what mine was like with Jamison--for me it certainly didn't mean labor was near.

With Mikee - I lost mine 1 week prior to delivery exactly smile.gif it was kind of clear with a brownish ting of blood, I squated down to pick something up off the floor and heard this very distinct POP that even my former mother in law heard and said "what was that" and I remember saying - I dunno but it came from the "baby area"

With Andrea - it was while I was in labor with her. With her it was this really gross long string of bloody snot looking stuff. I remember I woke up because I felt something cold and just icky on my leg - Made me gag several times when I saw it.

I'm glad I read this. Last night I woke up one of my million times and when walking back to the bathroom I felt something big wet and ucky, went to wipe and it looked just like most of you decribed, a big nasty thing of snot. I wasn't sure since they call it your 'bloody show' but the most I saw was two like, hairsized streaks of blood or something. I've had one or two more little gooks, much smaller. I was dialated to a two and 70% effaced last time I went to dr (yesterday?) Dr said she's thinking soon.
