I had a consult with the ENT yesterday and scheduled her surgery to get tubes put in for the 18th... not much time at all I'm a bit freaked out by the whole thing, but am looking forward to having a healthy baby.

Even though it's for something as routine as ear tubes, it's always frightening to face the prospect of surgery, particularly with our babies. I know she'll be just fine, though, and in the end, she'll be much better off without all of those infections.

Hugs to baby Nora---I just posted about Jack getting tubes as well. I will be anxious to see how she does. I'm sure she'll do great. How will she do with the "no fluids after midnight" ---is she still nursing through the night?

That's what I'm most worried about. She nurses ALL NIGHT LONG It's going to be difficult and I'm really not looking forward to it. How about Jack - do you think he'll do ok? That worries me more than the procedure for some reason. He nurses from about 5 am-7 every morning and usually once or twice during the night. DH will have to take the night shift and be prepared to miss some sleep. Is her surgery going to be first thing in the morning I hope?

I didn't know Nora was having trouble, Amy (guess I need to check into PC more frequently). I hope the tubes will fix things. Sophia had a lot of ear infections too, didn't she?

I know it's really scary Amy, but hang in there. I was mortified when Hanna got her tubes put in because of the anesthesia, but the surgery was done in literally 3 minutes, it was over and done and she woke right up. They are a little out of it when they first wake up and they are disoriented so they cry and stuff, but after they get over the intial feeling and take a nap, they wake up and are a happy baby again. Hanna's has never had an earache since she had tubes in her ears. I just recently found out at her last doctor appt. for her poopy problems that they fell out, but she is still fine. I promise it'll be ok.
