So, Ashley shared a story with me that happened at school....

She told a kid in her class that he shouldn't say the "s" word (shut-up), and that it was a bad word. The kid then turned to her and said, "Shut-Up isn't a cuss word. Shut the F____ Up would be cussing." ohmy.gif Ashley didn't realize what she was saying when she told me the story so I had to explain that the "F" word is not something she should say. I don't think she'd ever heard it before.

She learned not to say the "B" word when she was making up rhymes and needed a rhyme with "Witch". LOL

My baby is growing up .... I miss the days when stupid and shut up were the bad words.

laugh.gif They still are the bad words wink.gif In our house you aren't even allowed to say "fart". It's a bad word. So......we have lots of them and Kylie knows that what we think is a bad word might not be a bad word to others. We just explain to her there are REALLY BAD words and there are words like shut up that are not necessarily "BAD" words they are just not nice to say or hear and we try to be polite as humanly possible to everyone.

Well all i can say is this. At leat you know that Ashley has grown up with the values you instilled in her. So even if she came across someone like me (who swares every other word) she won't likely repeat them because to her it's not right. So she hears the words, the mental alarm goes off and she doesnt repeat. No worries. thumb.gif

I think it's because I was not allowed to use that word growing up that it makes me associate the word with something bad. So in our house we say "frog". laugh.gif blush.gif
