My 5 mo old DD's latest form of communication is a screech. Unhappy cries I can deal with - she's unhappy and y'know she's sharing that with me. Fine, I can focus on being compassionate. But these happy screeches are just too much. It cuts right through my head and since she's happy there's nothing I can really do about it. I think it's maybe "I want more attention" but frankly she seems to want constant attention whenever she's not sleeping.

Arg!

Happy screeches are also helpful........ they help me find my loose dental fillings. biggrin.gif

Seriously? I enjoy those happy screeches. It lets you know your child is happy! Why would you want more unhappy noises? Your child is finding her voice, that is the beginning of language development. Babies are consistantly trying to make new noises with their voices..spitting, screeching, screaming, babbling, etc. If she wants attention, she'll let you know with unhappy crying...I assure you it's just her experimenting with her voice. As long as she's happy, let her be happy. Don't let it irritate you, you should be happy knowing she is properly developing.

ahhhh, the famous dolphin squeal. It can be ear piercing but it only lasts for a short time. Get it on video for future use. It's a great way to get rid of unwanted houseguests. rolling_smile.gif

Nothing, and I'm sure it a troll, but it was lovely to read nonetheless.
