My DH was just told that his company is sending him and myself to Lake Tahoe for four nights!! Flight and hotel included! Each year, his company has a trip (last year Hawaii, year before Bahamas ) where they send the community team (he works for a home developer) with the highest peak performance score. All the VPs and their wives go too. So typically DH isn't elligible since he works in a different department, but they changed his position last January where he now manages several community teams. And because he oversees the TOP team, he gets to go!! I'm so proud of him! They have to nominate you as well. I'm so excited that we get a trip together, all expenses paid for is certainly not bad either. Now we just have to pay for a flight for my mom to come out and watch the kids. BTW, the trip will be in March, so this is our V-day gift to each other.
What's the weather like in Tahoe in March?? -------------------- Rae SAHM to Wil (4) and Wesley (2) ~ Wife to Richard 10/20/01

I've never been, so I should bring snow clothes? Sortof like how it is here in CO in March, cold? I'm happy to go anywhere, but I was sortof jealous that the team got to go to Hawaii last year. I could really use some sunshine right now! -------------------- Rae SAHM to Wil (4) and Wesley (2) ~ Wife to Richard 10/20/01

Definitely warm clothing. Snow gear if you want to go skiing. Do you know where you are staying?

Oh how exciting!!!! I would love to go to Lake Tahoe!! Of course I don't live in the mountains, get to see snow and our winter this year is averaging 70 degrees. I can certainly understand your disappointment. It will be a wonderful getaway for the two of you, though. Congrats to your DH for a job well done!!!!

I'll recommend a restaurant there. It's on the South Shore on the Nevada side, up on a small mountain so you can kinda see the lake. Chart House
PM me if you have any other questions...here's a pic I took to get you really excited: -------------------- Naomi, Wife to Tim & Mommy to Thomas (7) and Andrew (2)

Thanks, I love it too. There is a Norwegian style stone castle directly below where I was standing, on the beach in that pic. That area is called called Emerald Bay. It's breathtaking!!!!!

Oh wow, that is GORGEOUS!!! Now I'm excited! I'm really just happy to get out of dodge, so snow or sun, who cares right? There is a spa at the hotel, which btw is Harrah's Resort, I think. Looks like there is a lot to do there. I have heard of the Chart House, only because I think it's a chain. I've always heard good things about it too! Thanks!

The Chart House is not far from Harrah's, and yes, it's a chain. I didn't know that until I looked up their website.
I also recommend the dinner cruise on the lake. It's not fantastic food but the best way you'll get to see that castle I was talking about, it's really cool. I'm not sure if it's up your alley, or if they'll have it in February but we drove over to Carson City and did a 4wheeler adventure ride on the Pine Nut mountains. It was mostly for DH but I did end up having a good time too. Have fun! I'll make it back there one day! -------------------- Naomi, Wife to Tim & Mommy to Thomas (7) and Andrew (2)
