Just thought some of you may want to know...I got on the monitor again today and Wesley is doing fine. Just to be sure though, doc scheduled a sono for Thursday where they will test fluid, tone...and something else I can't remember. I guess they score the baby - 10 being the highest. If he scores anything below a 6, then I will need to be monitored twice a week.
Apparently there is no definite reason as to why I'm not getting many kicks lately. Doc could only give me the obvious reason - which is that there may not be enough room in there. But according to my monitor reading, Wesley IS an active baby...Unfortunately I'M just not feeling him much I guess. Which I find strange. So to explain that, the doc said it could actually be the opposite, where maybe he is a small baby and that's why I'm not feeling him. It's hard to say for sure, but hopefully the sono will give us some answers! Anyhow, if this continues, he will induce me after 38 weeks. I hope that it doesn't get to that point, unless of course something is wrong and we need to get him out. But again, the doc says that according to my readings, he is doing fine. Ughhhh, now I'm stressed! Thursday can't come fast enough.... Thanks for everyone's concerns. -------------------- Rae SAHM to Wil (4) and Wesley (2) ~ Wife to Richard 10/20/01

Hugs, Rae. I'm sure things are fine, but I'm glad your doc is keeping a close eye on things. I didn't feel Logan much, but my placenta was covering most of the front of my uterus, it cushioned things, I think.

Lots of hugs Rae I'm sure little Wesley is fine, just think about it this way, maybe he'll be an extra laid back baby
I'm sure he's fine but understand the worrying, it's natural. Please let us know how you are! -------------------- |

Hey Rae-
Is your dr on the young side, by any chance? Lots of times, younger drs tend to test more- b/c they sometimes are less sure of their instincts, and haven't had lots of btdt experience, kwim? In any event, he did say Wes is doing just fine, which is certainly enough to hang your hat on. He's simply proceeding with caution, and given the high stakes of practicing obstetrics, that's prudent, as well as beneficial to you, but is in no way an indication that anything is necessarily wrong. Try to relax, I'm sure the baby's ok. -------------------- Jeanne

I'm glad everything is ok. Maybe the u/s will show that your placenta is in front and keeping you from feeling him much. I hope you don't have to be induced early, but I would want to do the same thing if my doctor was worried!

Biophysical Profile! That's what it's called! The whole visit was such a blur because I was stressed out and expecting bad news, so thanks for putting a name to it!
He's probably in his late forties, early fifties...so not old, but not straight out of med school. I am embarassed to say that I don't know how long he's been practicing, but I really do feel comfortable and greatful that he's taking a lot of precaution. I'm actually glad that he's not just a BTDT kinda doc only because the doc that delivered Wil was a bit like that and she always sorta pushed me out the door feeling like a worry-wart! But, like you said, taking the precaution does not mean that there IS anything wrong. So I'll just try and take it easy.
It was cute, because he knew that I was embarased coming in again...so he even said "don't feel embarassed or worry that we think you're crying wolf". We will put you on that monitor any time you want. It's always better to be safe than sorry. -------------------- Rae SAHM to Wil (4) and Wesley (2) ~ Wife to Richard 10/20/01

It could be that he is just small. The doc had told me that could have been the reason why I didn't feel Megan as much. I definitely felt her a lot less than Kylie.
Glad everything went well though. -------------------- ~*Karen*~
