I just posted in LeeAnns thread recently that Nikka hasn't discovered boys, etc....apparantly I spoke too soon or too late
We found out today that there are two boys who are calling her, and one asked her to "go out" meaning be her boyfriend She told him she had to ask her dad first Good girl Anyway, I thought we were safe until the glasses became contacts and the braces came off....apparantly not |

Well....he was a little suprised, to say the least Only b/c she's really open with him and he didn't get the impression that she was into boys yet. She says she's still not, he liked her answer to that boy, she told him that since she's not allowed to date she didn't see the point in having a boyfriend but that they could hang out at school and talk on the phone Her mom (also named Monica, LOL, she's "Monica 1" and I'm "Monica 2" to the family) has met both these boys and says they're very nice, good students, both on the basketball team, etc....in spite of that, DH refers to them as "those little suckers who are calling my daughter" I think it freaked him out even more when I was folding laundry and handed her a bra...he knows she wears them but actually seeing it was a little much for him It was a lot for him to take in over the course of a few hours This post has been edited by luvmykids on Jan 4 2008, 10:33 PM |

Poor Dad.... but under the circumstances it sounds like he handled it well. I like her answer to the boy, you all are doing a great job of raising her.

Monica you are so funny!! I love it that she told the boy she'd have to ask her dad. I remember telling my dad "Chad wants to know if I will go with him." Dad said " Where are you going? Neither of you drive." I don't know if it was like that everywhere, but this was like in 5th grade. If a boy wanted to be your "boyfriend" he would say "Will you go with me". Those are the 5 words every girl dreamed of hearing. And we'd say "We're going together." Just think, in a few more years Maddie will be at this age. *sigh* What fun. |
