This may be a silly question, but I am curious how long those who are BFing have been able to stave off their AF (uhh..Aunt Flow). Peyton is almost 7 months old and still no AF, now I am not complaining, but I am just curious how long I can expect this bliss to continue!!!
Thanks for your help!

Wish I could say the same is true for me. I think it was around 3 or 4 months for me. As soon as Ashley slept 6 hours, AF showed up. sad.gif I read that if the baby starts sleeping for several hours thru the night then you have a good chance of AF showing up.

But, now it should go away because she is not sleeping well at night! But, I guess it doesn't work that way.

It was well over a year for me, and I do think that it has a lot to do with how often/how much your baby nurses......Anders was a voracious eater, both BF and food. (In fact, we've got a standing joke about him being a "light eater" - when it's light out, he's eating!)

With my other three, it was well over 6 mos, but they didn't nurse like Anders, my nursing champ!

I exclusively pumped from the beginning and slept 5-6 hrs at night w/o pumping for about the first 6 weeks. AF showed up at 6 weeks pp, and every month since although not very regularly--between 27-35 days, when it used to be 28 like clockwork. It is about as bad crampwise as it always was, but I can really tell when it's coming--like I'm more in tune with my uterus tongue.gif
Also I can really tell when I'm ovulating--if DH and I ever get a chance to do IT we'll have to be careful! Only took 1 month to get pg last time! NOT ready to be PG again...

I got mine at 11 months with Hannah (who turned 1 yesterday), and now I think she'll be back soon mad.gif . Hannah still nurses 8 or more times a day, and I was hoping she would have stayed gone longer!

Katherine is still nursing frequently at night (we co-sleep) and we are nearing the 8 month mark for her. I was just telling my mom that it's been almost a year and a half with no AF. Seems wierd but awesome! Maybe I'll keep breastfeeding Katherine until she's 12ish! rolling_smile.gif j/k

Thanks everyone for your responses..I was getting worried because I've been having a few pregnancy symptoms (increase smell sense, a little nauseau) and since I don't have an AF to compare to, I wasn't sure if I was 'normal'....so as for no AF, at least I am 'normal'!! Hmm...did that make sense?
I do love being AF-free, though!!!! thumb.gif

Are you going to take a PG test anyways? We might have another "+" on the board. LOL

I am happy smile.gif to not have AF its almost 4 months for me! I am hoping it will be a lot longer. I was glad the nurse who can to see me at home after Kaitlin was born told me I might not have it after the inital cleaning out. Another reason I am glad I BF! Just dont let anyone tell you that you cant get PG while BF, cause its not true! (not that I am experienced in that, but I met someone who is)

I took one last night to ease my mind and it was....

negative. It is just so nervewracking not having something to judge by!!! I may have to take another one in a few weeks...just to ease my mind again!!! (BTW, I wouldn't mind being pregnant, we are just 'planning' on waiting until December to try)

I also haven't seen af yet, and pump in the afternoons, but I have Mirena, so I wasn't sure if it was that or the bf. But definately don't mind not seeing her!
