I have been seeing a new guy for about a month now and I have my 2 kids most of the time so we get to see each other once a week usually. I haven't ever done the dating thing with having kids so this is all new to me. He has brought up a few times meeting the kids and I trust him fully and such but after only a month not sure I'm ready for that yet. I told him and he understands he says. I just don't know when to know the time is right for even thinking of the whole meeting the kids thing. He was talking about taking us all away on a vacation but that I know is way to soon. Just any advice for this situation would be helpful.

Go with your gut. I dated dh for about 6 months before he ever laid eyes on Lexi. I dont think there is a set time frame or anything. But if you dont think the relationship will last then why bring the kids into it. And if you do think this is gona be long term then go ahead. Just be careful. My whole thing was I didnt want Lexi to get attached to him and then it not work out between us. That was my fear.

This is the reason im not dating sad.gif I'm so scared, the boys already have a hard time with their dad's come here go away attitude. I dont want them to have someone else in and out of their lives. It gets awfully lonely though. I wish i wasnt so scared. I would say go with your gut. If you dont feel the time is right then wait, and when you do introduce them play it cool. Happen to run into him somewhere, kwim? Don't play it up as a big deal with the kids, they might get freaked.

I don't plan on doing it anytime soon really. I planned on taking the kids to the park and him kinda just showing up there. Their dad has already introduced them to another girl that lasted a whole week and they asked about for a month after so I don't want that again for them. I was thinking of the 6th month thing but I don't know

I will not have my boys meet anyone I am dating unless it becomes serious. I do not want my boys to get attached to someone who may not be in their lives longer than a few weeks.
Then again I don't plan on getting serious anytime soon, 2 failed marriages I do think I'll wait a long while before I do seriously date again. I will go out and have fun while the boys are with their dads, but I don't want anything serious until I get my life back on track.
