Hi! I'm Jenn, I just read your post earlier about Tay & his bio-dad. I just wanted to let you know that I'm in your situation a little bit. I have a ds that will be 8 this month. His bio-dad lives in another state & hasn't seen him since he was 15 mos. old. He has called here & there & has sent gifts for b-days & x-mas & such, but has decided over the summer that he wants dh to adopt him. I haven't heard from him since that phone call.
Anyway, I wanted to let you know that my ds asks about his bio-dad once in a while (it's mostly when they're discussing the states in school). & it's hard. He does cry once in a while & I try to explain things to him. I just wanted to let you know that I understand how you & Tay feel. Jenn -------------------- |

Sorry to nose in, but I understand too!
My oldest daygther Abri who is 6. She is not my Husbands Bio-daugther. She has never once in 6 years met her dad or even heard from him. My DH has been with us since Abri was 8 months old and heis the only dad she knows of. It makes me angry her dad doesn't seem to care, Seeing how his dad was never in his life. I will tell her about him when i know she can understand, and let her decide if she wants to see him. I was told when i was pregnant with her that if a father has no kid of contact for 7 years, his rights are automatically taken away. I am not sure if it still stands or not. Anyways Its good to know there are other people like me out there!! We should have our own Club! -------------------- ~*~*CARY~*~*

We definitely need our own club! I've heard that the rule is 6 mos. -no contact is abandonment. We made it to that & then out of the blue his bio-father called & wanted to give up his rights & have my dh adopt him. We haven't heard from him since. So, I dunno. Anyway, it's best for our babies

Hi guys!
I agree we need our own club. I can't figure out how they can be in and out of their lives and it doesnt bother them? How can you just *move* on? It's so hard on the kids, I stayed in my marriage well after it was over just for Tay, than it just started getting really ugly. Kisses to al the little kiddo's out there with deadbeat dads! What would our kids do if we were deadbeat Moms? Who would take care of them? -------------------- Mommy to two wonderful boys!
