Hello, I was on a search this morning for a parenting group, and here is where I find myself now. My name is nicole mother to adah, (almost 6 months old. almost 15 lb, 27in.) I'm not to good at introductions so I'll keep it breif.

At adah's 4 month dr apt, my dr suggested I start introducing solids to her, do to her amount of feedings. (she's bf, but was eating every 2 hours and because she seemed a lot more active then other 4 month olds.

i waited to start her on solids until month 5, by then she would open her mouth when observing me eat. i knew it was deffinately time. she's been on solids for almost a month (just starting week 5) her pallete is still small (cereal, carrots, peas, greenbeans, and just started sweet potatoes this morning.)

she eats 3 solid meals a day. 10am-2pm-7pm all together about 4 ounces of jar food and cereal. She just started with some carrot wheels (baby finger food)
She does exceptionally well, from te beginning there was aways more in her mouth then on her.

Now the problem. Up until a week ago she would eat these meals plus the same amount of breastfeedings. But this last week, she seems to be not interested in breastfeeding at all. She'll bite, and try and sit up, and then when I set her down thinking she's not hungry she will scream until I bring her back to the breast. and repeat. several times until she is distravted by something else.

I think she's hungry, but she is just not into breastfeeding anymore, anyone have or heard of a similar circumstance?

nicole

I honestly have no clue but jsut wanted to Welcome you to PC. I have been MIA so I am getting caught up. I do remember my pedi, at Annika's 4 month, warning me that Annika may become a little disinterested in the breast once she started solids. I always nurse Annika first then offer her the solids. Best of luck. hug.gif
