Parenting Club Forums > Dieting & Healthy Eating > Dasani Flavored Water....

In my attempts to give up colas, I have been drinking the Dasani flavored waters. I really like the mixed berry and raspberry flavors. I don't like sweet drinks, and these aren't sweet, they have just a hint of flavoring. And, they have 0 calories, 0 grams of fat, and 0 carbs. I also like them because they don't have aspartame in them -- I can't drink anything with aspartame. Just thought I'd pass my yummy finding along. Oh, and if you don't like aspartame flavored drinks, don't get the carbonated ones or some of the other brands (check the lables) because some do contain it.

Oooh, I had no idea! I'm so used to the flavored waters having aspartame in them, and I simply can't consume it- I get horrible side effects (hives, migraines, etc.).

Thanks for the tip though, I have to get some of these! I'm not a huge fan of plain water, so am always looking for a healthier drink than juice or teas (I'll rarely drink soda either luckily).

I'll have to give that a try-I'm trying to up my water intake for this belly bean of mine. wink.gif

Something my dh likes to do is fill up a nalgene bottle with cold water and then he throws a flavored tea bag in (his fav is blueberry and pomegranate) and lets it sit for awhile and it makes a really good, mild tasting tea flavored water. Very yummy and healthy! thumb.gif

Well apparently it says on it not recommended for children under 18 - they recently pulled it out of all canadian schools....but yes, I love the taste too!

Hmm, I'd be interested in the article too. I let Ashley drink them -- there's not much added to it, so I'd like to know why they pulled htem from the shelves. I did a search and couldn't find anything on it, so I hope you can find the article.

Are you sure it's not the sparkling ones (that are carbonated) because those do contain aspartame?
