Plastic Surgery?

Has anyone ever considered having plastic surgery done? I'm considering it and have been considering it for a while. Due to the many medication trials I've been on and having 3 children my weight has fluctuated. Right now my weight is pretty stable, I just have this really flabby, stretched out stomach. I'm not wanting to be a size 2. Just would like to have this excess skin removed, so I can look in the mirror and feel good about myself. I don't care if that means only going down to a size 14. I would be happy with that. I've looked at the risks involved and if I can find someone in Thunder Bay I would be really happy. So far the closest is in the Toronto Area. I have a lot of questions to ask of the surgeon before I would really go ahead and go through with it.

I have considered it and will eventually go through with it I too have some excess skin I'd like to remove. After 4 babies and gaining ALOT of weight with the last one and losing most of it there is some tummy issues lol! I'd also like to have a boob job as the kids did a number on them. Ideally I'd like to lose about 30 more lbs before I do anything so maybe next summer I hope , after the hysterectomy it isn't so easy to lose weight! Good luck with your decision!

Absolutely! Unfortunately for me, my plastic surgey fund (I saved almost every mileage check for 10 years specifically for this purpose) is now 7.5 years old. Guess I'll just be content being Olivia's mom, not Stephen's hot wife

Oh yeah! I would LOVE to have some lipo on my upper arms & chin/neck, a boob lift & a tummy tuck! Unfortunately..having 3 kids that suck our wallets dry daily...it won't be happening anytime soon!

Had my nose done and an ex-girlfriend had a boob job and lipo (115lbs and she "needed" lipo....???)

If you can afford it, go for it.

I think any time under the knife is too risky unless it is a medical necessity. I figure my kids would rather have me with my crooked nose, droopy eyelids and flabby tummy then gone from anesthesia or a secondary infection. JMHO.

I will have a tummy tuck after I lose the weight and have just one more baby (I hope ). My husband already knows that I have it in mind and he supports me. I had a "second" tummy even before I got pregnant and I know that it wont ever go away even with diet/exercise so I want that sucker gone in a couple years.

I would LOVE to have boobs , but doubt I would actually go through plastic surgery.

I'm one of the few - only?? - women who lost boobage with each child, and I didn't have much to show in the first place . I was a B before children and now I'm too small for even a training bra!!!

I could use some boobs but I wouldn't have plastic surgery. It's not worth the risk IMO just to have boobs. My self-esteem never suffered because of it. Now if I had horrible self-esteem issues over something that maybe I was made fun of over as a child and it tore me down, I'd think about it, but I just wouldn't wanna go through with it. Besides my DH hates big boobs.... Weird weird man, but hey that's fine with me, since I have none

personally, the risks outweigh the benefits for me, plus it's super expensive. if you are really serious about it, email a toronto clinic for all the details. my mom had a nose job about 25 years ago and it was $2G then

I've been SERIOUSLY thinking about breast implants lately...To the point I've done a bit of research. Call me vain, whatever. I have always been small chested, but like some of you said, I've gone from a nice rounded B to a negative A. I went to Macy's yesterday to buy a strapless bra and what a joke. Well I found a brand that carries in-between sizes...I tried on their "BARELY A" and it still gapped!! I was eyeing the "cutlets" (like Tara said), but I can just imagine them FALLING OUT since I have such a big gap in even super padded bras. Now for me it's not a self-esteem issue because I'm actually happy with my body and I'm comfortable with who I am. To me, the boobs won't complete me or change the way I feel inside. I've had dental work done, so I know quite well that if you are unhappy, you will still be unhappy regardless. But simply put, I want just a little something in my bra!!! Nothing big, just SOMETHING!!! My DH is not into big boobs either. So he said if I wanted to do it, I would have to do it for myself and of course stay healthy. I told him yesterday that as soon as we are for sure done with kids and I go back to work (two incomes), then I'm seriously doing it. I'll let you know when I get there!

My only issue with woman getting breast implants is that, in my experience, many woman love to show them off. And I don't mean by wearing skimpy shirts.

More like, *lifting shirt* "Hey look at these".

All of a sudden, they are not private body parts... they are "accessories" to be shown off like a new car.

I actually am employed in the Plastic Surgery department of a hospital..I think that one thing you will want to make sure of is the doctor's certifications prior to surgery..I know in the US, you'd want to make sure that the doc is Board Certified.. ..( by the American Board of Plastic Surgery)I'm not sure of the particular certification for Canadian docs..Asking alot of questions is the best way to go about deciding on the surgeon and procedure that is right for you!..Asking how many of a particular procedure a doc has performed, along with risks and benefits and if "repeat" surgery may be necessary are all great questions!..I think getting a referral from a friend, acquaintance or family member or someone who has had surgery is a great thing, because then you know that they are happy and have had a successful surgery..Beware of "free consultation" advertisements and things of that nature as well..
