I have been walking everyday with dh and the kids pushing the stroller. We got a second backpack carrier and now I'm not quite sure how to classify it for exercize purposes. I have been using Fitday to track all calories eaten/burned. I have found 3 different activities that it could possibly fit under but 3 total different calorie expendatures. I would obviously like it to be the most but don't want to be judging completely off.

Backpacking, general 433
Walking or walking downstairs or standing, carrying objects about 25-49 lbs 289
Hiking, cross country 361

we live in a hilly area and walk for an hour, these are the 3 different hings I could find and the calorie burned associated with it.

etd. Matt and the pack together weigh about 40 lbs.

Lisa, we just buoght a backpack carrier to take Wil around Garden of the Gods. I tried it for the first time and I would have to say I felt like I burned more calories than I would in my Turbo kickboxing class (which I was told was like 600). It also strengthens your back, glutes and legs of course. As long as you're wearing it the correct way and not straining yourself, I would say keep it up!

One of them said walking or walking downstairs carrying 25-49 lbs. just to me I think of holding something not necessarily having it on my back.
