My best friend just had her first and asked me whether she can wash and re-use the milk storage bags. I said no, because I would worry that some of the old milk would be left in the bag and ruin the fresh milk. Plus using hot water to disinfect the bags would be bad too, because of the heat and plastic. But maybe I'm wrong. Her DH is as green as they get, so I know this is why she asks. Are there any re-usable storage things on the market these days? I know she bought all glass bottles, but what can you freeze in besides the bags? Thanks

She can freeze the milk in glass bottles and some plastic bottles as well. I never re-used storage bags so I'm not sure about that.

I didn't think you can freeze glass. It expands, but I could be wrong.

You can freeze glass so long as you leave some room near the top for expansion, like an inch or so.

Does she know anyone that has a baby eating solids, baby food jars would work well.

I use glass to store my herbs.
